Recyclobot: Branding a Robot made from recycled material for children

Objective

Create a new brand identity for a robot company called Recyclobot, which is made of recycled materials. The design was to also include an instruction manual designed so that even a child would be able to understand how to build the robot.

Execution

My first thought was to create the logo based on what my robot actually looked like, but then I decided to create something more simplified and straight to the point-a minimalistic approach.

This logo is more universal to conform to any other type of robot design that caters to any Recyclobot packaging. I wanted to create this logo to mimic what Lego’s editions do, I could potentially see this logo representing different robot designs made from recyclable materials. On the top i decided to place a recycling icon to represent what this product entails, in conjunction with a robot shaped head.

I chose the color options to relate to a “green” way of living, and for the typography I kept it simple with the Bungee font. The Bungee font demonstrates a robotic feeling and also creates a friendly tone that caters to children. The best part of this logo is that it will look great as a phone icon for an app.
