Case Study: The Circus Experience, a 2021 Diorama
Objective
Create a diorama with a unique theme and asset creation. I initially designed this diorama on my IPad Pro using the Procreate app. After sketching the overall initial storyboard I decided to add it to storyboard template so that I can add the scene number, any audio information- including music if any- and voice-overs. Once the digital illustrations were created I imported the designs into Adobe Illustrator and manipulated them for After Effects. Once working in After Effects I was able to work on keyframing each composition to give the viewer a unique user experience.

I started off with sketching out ideas of what a circus experience would look like. I couldn’t help but think about my personal experience as a kid and going to the circus with my parents. The theme song almost never changes. The tone I wanted to express comes from the colors throughout the diorama.

After completing a project I like to see how it would look like in the real world, so I put them on a mockup. This brings you to the design as if it were real life. I also use mockups to show my creative process. In doing so, I get to do this while developing the design.
